How we source and review listings

Sources first, original writing second

Softonic is an initial discovery source, including indexed summaries where accessible. Where full source pages cannot be accessed, we do not claim to have read them or bypass access restrictions. Official publisher websites, documentation and release pages supply detailed corroboration and download destinations. We retain source URLs, retrieval dates and the facts supported by each source.

Descriptions are written for SoftGalaxy, not copied reviews. A public source does not automatically grant permission to reuse its pictures. Media is included only with recorded provenance and usage rights; otherwise we use a neutral, original visual rather than a simulated screenshot.

What the dates mean

Internal source retrieval dates indicate when information was gathered. Internal review dates record editorial review of each revision. The download check date records a check of the file destination. None means that the application was installed or that the link is continuously monitored.

Versions are reported when supported by the evidence. We do not label a release “latest” merely because it is the one in our catalog.

Downloads and corrections

A published download button must identify a documented direct-file destination rather than disguising an article or store page as a file. External hosts can change or remove files after a check.

Send corrections to [email protected] with the page URL and supporting evidence. We can revise or remove a listing when it no longer meets the publication requirements. We do not promise continuous monitoring or a fixed response deadline.

Editorial boundaries

This release has no sponsored placements, affiliate tracking or paid rankings. Listing order is not a performance ranking. Missing information is omitted rather than invented, and we do not import third-party audience ratings as our own.
