What is Adobe Audition?
Adobe Audition combines detailed waveform editing with a multitrack workspace for arranging recordings, dialogue, music and effects. It suits podcast production and video audio finishing: edit individual clips, balance a layered session and use the spectral display and restoration tools to work on unwanted sound. Adobe also documents workflows with Premiere and an Essential Sound panel for audio adjustments.
Audition is not permanently free. Adobe offers a seven-day trial that converts to a paid Creative Cloud membership unless cancelled before it ends. An Adobe ID and an internet connection are required for activation and subscription validation. The linked Windows EXE is Adobe's Audition setup download; Adobe says the Creative Cloud desktop app comes with it. It is not presented here as a standalone offline installer.
The screenshot shows an older Audition multitrack workspace with colored audio clips, a surround panner and video preview. It illustrates the application workflow rather than the exact appearance of version 26.5.
