What is Allok Video Converter?
Allok Video Converter converts video files into formats for playback, sharing or older media devices. Its supported inputs include AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, MKV and FLV, while output options include AVI, MPEG, WMV, MP4, H.264 and 3GP. A file queue lets you prepare multiple conversions; start and end times select the section of each clip to keep.
The publisher also lists output volume adjustment, letterboxing to preserve the aspect ratio, and device profiles for products such as iPod, PSP and Xbox. These are legacy features, not evidence of support for current device models. The listed version is 4.6.1217, dated December 17, 2014 on the publisher page. That page names Windows versions through Windows 7; Windows 10 and 11 compatibility has not been verified. The free-to-try edition has a publisher-stated 50-percent conversion limit, so it is not an unrestricted free converter.
What it offers
- Convert supported video formats, including AVI, MPEG, WMV, MP4, H.264 and 3GP output.
- Queue multiple files for batch conversion and add files by dragging them from Windows Explorer.
- Select start and end times to convert only a chosen section of a video.
- Adjust output audio volume and add letterboxing to preserve the original aspect ratio.
Good to know
- The publisher describes a 50-percent conversion trial; unrestricted conversion requires the paid version.
- The publisher lists legacy Windows versions through Windows 7. Compatibility with Windows 10 and 11 is unverified.
- The publisher's listed release dates to 2014; current device-profile compatibility and ongoing maintenance have not been established.
