What is Avidemux?
Avidemux handles focused video jobs: removing a section from a recording, saving a selected clip, applying filters or encoding to another supported format. Its A/B markers define the section to save or delete. Supported input types include AVI, DVD-compatible MPEG, MP4 and ASF, while projects, a job queue and scripting help automate repeated work.
Copy-mode editing has a boundary: cuts in compressed video depend on keyframes. Arbitrary cut points can require re-encoding rather than simply copying the stream. Choose cut positions and output settings for the source video instead of assuming every trim is lossless.
