What is Buzz Captions?
Buzz Captions turns spoken audio into text using Whisper speech-recognition models. The Windows application is part of Buzz Classic, the free, open-source desktop edition. Import an audio or video file to make a transcript, or use microphone input for live transcription. TXT output suits text-based work, while SRT and VTT exports provide subtitle files. Local models support offline transcription; the optional OpenAI Whisper API is a separate online processing option.
