What is DeepSkyStacker?
DeepSkyStacker prepares a combined image from a series of deep-sky exposures. Add your light frames and any matching dark, flat, dark-flat and offset/bias frames, register the pictures, then stack the selected frames. The picture list and preview help you inspect the files before processing; file groups keep material from different imaging sessions together.
The application includes RAW/FITS settings, automatic alignment, batch stacking and image-processing controls. Version 6.2.2 adds saturation and vibrance controls to the processing pane. This entry links to the stable Windows x64 installer rather than the separately listed 6.2.3 beta releases.
Plan for temporary disk space when stacking large sets. The manual warns that Drizzle can create images four or nine times larger and substantially increase memory and disk use. TIFF input support is also limited to uncompressed, LZW or ZIP/Deflate files. The screenshots are publisher documentation examples, not evidence that this installer was run or that they depict version 6.2.2.
What it offers
- Register and stack light frames with dark, flat, dark-flat and offset/bias calibration frames.

- Configure RAW/FITS decoding, alignment and stacking methods, including Drizzle.
- Queue multiple stacking jobs with batch stacking.

Good to know
