What is DJV?
DJV is a media playback and review application for checking animation, visual effects and other image-based work. It supports high-resolution, high bit-depth images and image sequences, with a timeline for inspecting shots rather than just watching a finished movie. Compare two versions with a wipe, overlay or difference view to examine changes in a render.
OpenColorIO color management, OpenTimelineIO timelines and multi-track audio support help with review workflows. Audio can play at variable speeds or in reverse, and DJV can export images, sequences and movies with audio. The publisher also provides command-line automation.
The linked DJV 3.7.5 disk image is the arm64 package for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 11 or newer. Intel Macs need the separate x86_64 package; the publisher lists macOS 10.15 or newer for that build. A compatible OpenGL 4.1 or OpenGL ES 3 graphics driver is required.
Download packages include only a limited set of video and audio codecs. Files requiring additional codecs may need an external FFmpeg installation configured for DJV, or a build from source. Do not assume every camera movie will open with the bundled codecs alone.
