What is DJV?
DJV is a media playback and review tool for checking rendered images, animation and visual-effects shots. It supports high-resolution, high bit-depth images, including EXR sequences. Compare two versions of a shot with wipe, overlay or difference views, work with OpenTimelineIO timelines, and use OpenColorIO color management during review. Multi-track audio, variable-speed playback and reverse playback support inspection of a sequence in context.
This download is the publisher’s DJV 3.7.5 Windows x64 EXE package. Softonic’s Windows listing still shows 3.7.1; the package version here follows the publisher’s release asset manifest rather than that listing.
The packaged build does not include H.264, HEVC, ProRes, DNxHD, DV or AAC codecs. If your camera movie uses one of those formats, DJV’s documentation directs you to install FFmpeg separately and configure its external command, or build DJV from source. Do not assume that every movie will open with the supplied package.
What it offers
- Review high-resolution, high bit-depth images and EXR sequences.
- Compare images with A/B wipe, overlay and difference modes.
- Use OpenTimelineIO timelines and OpenColorIO color management.
- Play multi-track audio with variable-speed and reverse playback.
Good to know
- Packaged downloads exclude H.264, HEVC, ProRes, DNxHD, DV and AAC codecs; those formats require a separately configured external FFmpeg command or a source build.
