What is GiliSoft Offline FaceSwap Master?
GiliSoft Offline FaceSwap Master is intended for replacing faces in still photos and video clips while processing media locally on a Windows PC. Import a target image or clip, supply a clear replacement portrait, identify the face to change, and export a separate result. The source listing also describes video trimming and cropping before replacement. It suits authorized creative edits and private previews where uploading source footage is undesirable.
The distinction between the offline and cloud plans matters more than the desktop installer: GiliSoft says both plans use the same trial download. Choose and confirm the offline edition rather than assuming every task runs locally. The offline edition is paid; trial export limits and setup or activation requirements were not established by the available evidence. Local rendering also does not prevent a sync service from uploading files stored in a backed-up folder.
The screenshots are source-supplied gallery images showing the import screen and video face-selection workspace within branded presentation slides. They are not results from our own software run. One pictured workspace displays a remaining-points counter; the image does not establish the purchased offline edition's licensing or quotas. No installer was downloaded or executed, and output quality, speed and disconnected operation have not been tested.
What it offers
- Replace a selected face in a still photo or video clip using a source portrait.
- Import media with drag and drop or Add File, then identify the person to replace.
- Trim or crop video before face replacement, as described in the source listing.
- Use the paid offline edition for local processing and local source/output storage, according to GiliSoft.
- Publisher-described facial alignment, edge blending and skin-tone matching assist replacement; results still need inspection.
Good to know
- Offline FaceSwap Master is paid. Trial export restrictions and activation or setup connectivity requirements remain unconfirmed.
- The trial installer is shared with cloud processing. Confirm the selected edition and processing route before using sensitive files.
- Head-angle differences, blur, uneven lighting, occlusion and motion can expose blending errors; inspect complete video exports, not just a still preview.
- Local processing does not stop other applications from syncing source files or output folders to online storage.
- Exact installer version, CPU architecture, minimum Windows build and hardware requirements are not verified. The publisher displays 8.0 while Softonic lists 8.2.0.
Choose the offline edition, not just the desktop download
GiliSoft presents cloud processing and Offline FaceSwap Master as different ways to use the same product family. The offline plan is advertised as a lifetime license for local creation; the cloud plan uses usage-based billing. Both point to the same faceswap.exe installer. The download alone therefore does not prove which plan or processing route will be available after setup.
Before relying on disconnected work, confirm the installed edition, complete any setup and licensing steps, and follow the publisher's recommendation to try a non-sensitive import-to-export job without internet. This is a suggested user check, not a test we performed. Keep private inputs and results outside folders that automatically sync.
Prepare a short face-swap job
Start with a single-person photo or short video clip and retain the original. Add the target scene first, then a sharp replacement portrait with a similar head angle and unobstructed eyes and mouth. The listed workflow allows trimming or cropping video before identifying the face to replace. Confirm the intended face when several people appear in the scene.
After processing, save a separate output and inspect it at its intended viewing size. Check the jaw, hairline, glasses, eyes and skin-tone transitions. For video, watch through turns, cuts and hands crossing the face; also check the exported picture, audio and duration in another player. A good-looking thumbnail is not evidence of consistent motion.
Check platform and trial limits before committing
The product is for Windows, and the Softonic listing specifically names Windows 11. That listing is not an exact minimum-build or architecture specification. The available publisher pages do not settle GPU requirements, supported codecs, trial export caps or activation conditions. Confirm the requirements for your intended PC and media with GiliSoft before buying hardware or planning a large project.
Use faces and footage you own or have permission to edit, with consent from the people depicted. Do not present an edited face swap as an authentic recording or an endorsement. The publisher's cloud option is an alternative only when uploading the source material is acceptable; it is not an equivalent privacy workflow.
