What is GOM Player?
GOM Player is a free desktop media player for watching local video and audio files on Windows. It supports familiar formats such as MP4, AVI and MKV, along with subtitle files including SRT, ASS and VTT. Subtitle search and synchronization controls help when a film's dialogue needs captions or the text is out of time.
For closer viewing, you can repeat a selected section, set how many times it plays and organize multiple repeat intervals. The player also supports navigating 360-degree videos and offers several interface skins. These features suit language practice, reviewing a clip or choosing a less cluttered playback window.
Format support is not a guarantee that every file will play without extra components: the publisher says some videos need external codecs, DirectX or Windows Media Player. Softonic also warns that installation may offer third-party extras or change settings. Review the installer choices carefully; this entry does not claim that the current installer was run or inspected. GOM Player is the free product, not the separately offered GOM Player+ edition.
