What is HoneyView?
HoneyView opens photos and other images on Windows, including JPG, PNG, PSD, WebP and supported camera RAW formats. It can display JPEG EXIF data, including GPS information, and play animated GIF and WebP images. Batch conversion with resizing helps when you need to change the format or dimensions of several pictures.
Its archive viewer opens images inside ZIP, RAR, 7Z, CBR and CBZ files without extracting them first. That makes it useful for browsing an archived photo collection or comic while leaving the archive intact.
HoneyView is a discontinued product. Bandisoft still lists version 5.53, released June 21, 2024, but explicitly states that new features and security updates have ended. The publisher recommends its successor, BandiView, for ongoing updates and newer image formats. Do not confuse HoneyView's freeware license with the separate trial and paid editions of BandiView.
The publisher screenshot shows the main viewer in version 5.30; the second, older source-gallery screenshot shows the file-association configuration panel. These illustrate the interface, not a test of version 5.53.
What it offers
- Open common image formats such as JPG, PNG, PSD and WebP, plus supported camera RAW files.
- Play animated GIF and WebP images.
- View JPEG EXIF metadata, including GPS information when present.
- Convert image formats in batches with resizing.
- Browse images inside ZIP, RAR, 7Z, CBR and CBZ archives without extracting them.
Good to know
- Feature development and security updates have ended; Bandisoft recommends BandiView for ongoing updates.
- The publisher lists newer formats such as AVIF, JXL and HEIC under BandiView rather than HoneyView; check format support before choosing this legacy viewer.
