What is KB Piano?

KB Piano turns a computer keyboard into a playable musical instrument. Choose from the publisher's listed 128+ sounds, including piano, guitar and violin, or use Qchords to trigger a chord with one key. It suits trying melodies and assembling songs without needing a separate piano keyboard.

The publisher lists recording with up to 99 channels, microphone audio tracks and an Events Editor for correcting notes. MIDI import lets you bring in an existing song, while MIDI, WMA and WAV output provide different ways to save your work. Channel effects include reverb, echo, distortion, flanger and chorus. These are documented features, not results from a hands-on installation.

This is a legacy application originally designed for Windows XP. The publisher lists Windows XP or higher but warns that Windows 10 may require compatibility mode; Windows 11 operation and processor architecture are not confirmed by the cited page. The publisher describes version 2.5.1 as free, which differs from Softonic's trial label. The linked EXE is the installer exposed by the publisher, checked with HEAD only rather than downloaded or executed.
