What is LenMus Phonascus?
LenMus Phonascus helps music students practise reading notation and recognizing what they hear. Its exercises cover notes, intervals, scales, chords, cadences and key signatures. You can focus on a specific topic rather than work through an entire course, while interactive music books combine explanations with playable scores and exercises.
Version 6.0 organizes exercises into two levels with predefined configurations and gives direct access to content from the main window. It also adds book chapters on pickup measures and chords. The Windows download linked here is the publisher's 6.0.0 x64 EXE installer for Windows 10; the later 6.0.1 source release fixes compilation with newer wxWidgets rather than supplying a replacement Windows installer.
This is a learning tool, not a current score-writing application: the experimental score editor was removed in version 6.0. The project also announced in June 2023 that maintenance was suspended, with only possible sporadic bug fixes. The gallery image shows an older Windows interface retained by the source, not the redesigned version 6.0 main window.

Good to know

- Version 6.0 removes the experimental score editor, so it should not be chosen for writing original scores.
