What is LosslessCut?
LosslessCut cuts unwanted sections from video and audio by copying the original media streams rather than re-encoding them. It suits rough-cutting camera recordings, saving selected clips or extracting an audio track when you want to preserve the original encoding. You can define multiple segments, merge compatible files, choose which tracks to keep and change containers without converting the underlying codecs.
Lossless cutting is not arbitrary frame-accurate editing: a cut starts at the keyframe before the selected point, so the result can begin earlier than requested. Available operations also depend on the file's format and codecs; merging whole files requires identical codecs.
The linked version 3.70.2 DMG is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 or newer. The publisher offers a separate Intel DMG and a paid Mac App Store edition; manual GitHub downloads are free. The screenshot shows the publisher's macOS interface and is not a capture of this specific release.
