What is MeshLab?
MeshLab processes 3D triangular meshes, with tools for working on models produced by 3D scanning. Use it to align separate scans, remove unwanted geometry, reconstruct surfaces from point clouds or reduce a mesh's triangle count. It also provides texturing, measurement and format-conversion tools, plus operations for preparing models for 3D printing.
This entry links to the publisher's MeshLab 2025.07 Windows x64 EXE. MeshLab is the interactive desktop application, not the PyMeshLab Python library. The publisher retired meshlabserver in favor of PyMeshLab for batch processing, so an automated workflow that depends on that older command-line tool needs a different approach.
The screenshot is the publisher's alignment-tool illustration: it shows scan layers and alignment controls, not a verified capture of the 2025.07 release.
What it offers
- Align meshes and point clouds from separate scans in a common reference system.
- Clean meshes by removing duplicate or unreferenced vertices, small components and problematic faces.
- Simplify triangular surfaces or use subdivision, remeshing and resampling filters.
- Reconstruct surfaces from point clouds and work with model color and textures.
- Measure models, convert supported 3D formats and prepare meshes for printing, including STL export.
Good to know
- meshlabserver was retired in favor of the separate PyMeshLab Python library for batch processing; this download is the interactive desktop application.
- The linked Windows installer is x64, not an x86 or native Windows ARM64 package.
