What is Mixxx?
Mixxx brings digital tracks, a music library and DJ mixing controls into one application. Use BPM and key detection to choose tracks, match their timing with Sync Lock, and shape transitions with EQ, loops, hotcues and a crossfader. Playlists and crates help organize a set, while MIDI and HID controller mappings offer hardware control.
Record mixes to WAV, FLAC or Ogg Vorbis, or broadcast through an Icecast or Shoutcast server. MP3 recording requires the separate LAME library. This entry links to the publisher’s 2.5.6 Windows 64-bit MSI, not the 2.6 beta snapshots. The gallery image shows an older Mixxx interface and is not a screenshot of version 2.5.6.
What it offers
- Mix with four decks, scrolling waveforms, EQ and crossfader controls.
- Use BPM and key detection, Sync Lock, beat loops and hotcues.
- Organize music in playlists and crates; use MIDI or HID controller mappings.
- Record mixes in WAV, FLAC or Ogg Vorbis and broadcast through Icecast or Shoutcast.
Good to know
- MP3 recording requires the separate LAME library; other listed recording formats do not depend on that MP3 encoder.
