What is Movienizer?

Movienizer organizes a personal movie collection in a local database. It brings together film descriptions, cover art, cast information and the location of a movie on a shelf or hard drive. Watched status and personal ratings help distinguish what you own from what you have already seen. Audio-track and subtitle details can sit alongside the catalog entry.

The publisher describes online lookups for synopses, covers, ratings and filmographies, with the retrieved information stored locally. These are cataloging features, not a source of the films themselves. Online lookups depend on external databases and the program’s download scripts; the publisher’s FAQ documents missing or incorrect results and outdated scripts. Those integrations were not exercised for this entry.

The linked EXE is the regular Windows installer; the publisher separately offers a portable package. Before updating an existing collection, its FAQ recommends backing up the movie database and covers. No installer was downloaded or run for this entry.

The publisher currently lists version 10.3, but the two source screenshots below are historical interfaces: the publisher’s Breeze example shows 6.0 and the Softonic gallery image shows 1.1. They illustrate the catalog layout, not the exact appearance of 10.3.

Despite Softonic’s Free label, the publisher distributes Movienizer as try-before-you-buy software. A paid license unlocks all features, and the license agreement restricts use to private home use rather than commercial environments.
