What is Mp3tag?
Mp3tag organizes the information attached to music files: artist, album, title, track number and cover art. It lets you apply tag changes to multiple files together, rename files from their tags or turn filenames into tag information. Supported formats include MP3, FLAC, M4A, Ogg Vorbis, Opus and WAV.
For albums with incomplete information, its online tag sources include MusicBrainz and Discogs. You can also replace text with regular expressions, create playlists and export collection details to formats such as CSV or HTML. These tools suit organizing an existing music collection and applying consistent naming across albums.
This entry links to the publisher's Windows x64 setup for version 3.36.1. The publisher lists Windows 7 through Windows 11 for this release and offers a separate 32-bit setup. Windows XP and Vista require the older version listed on the download page rather than this installer. The gallery image is a source-provided Windows interface illustration, not proof of the current release's appearance.
What it offers
- Batch-edit ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, MP4, WMA, APEv2 and Vorbis Comment tags.
- Add album covers and import tag information from online sources including MusicBrainz and Discogs.
- Rename files from tags, import tags from filenames and replace text using regular expressions.
- Create playlists and export collection information as HTML, RTF or CSV.
Good to know
- The current Windows installer does not cover Windows XP or Vista; the publisher provides the older v3.05 for those systems.
