What is Pineapple Pictures?
Pineapple Pictures is an image viewer for opening pictures without a busy editing workspace. Its Stay-on-Top setting lets you keep a reference image visible while working in another application. The publisher lists common formats such as JPEG, PNG, GIF and SVG, alongside formats including PSD, KRA, XCF, TGA, HDR and AVIF.
Format support depends on the Qt image-format plugins available in a build, so the publisher's format list is not a guarantee that every package opens every format. The Windows download linked here is the publisher's version 1.6.0 x64 ZIP archive, not an installer. This release adds an option to show or hide the bird-eye view and allows moving a maximized window by dragging its titlebar.
The developer describes the project as being in maintenance mode, with updates continuing but development focus shifted to another project. The screenshot is the publisher's existing main-window illustration; it is not a capture of this Windows release running locally.
What it offers
- View common image formats including JPEG, PNG, GIF and SVG, with additional format support depending on the build's plugins.
- Keep a reference image above other applications with the Stay-on-Top window setting.
- Choose whether the bird-eye view is shown in version 1.6.0.
- Move a maximized window by dragging its titlebar in version 1.6.0.
Good to know
- Image-format support depends on the Qt plugins included with the build; the full project format list may not apply to every package.
- The selected Windows package is x64; it is not a native x86 or ARM64 build.
- The project is in maintenance mode, although the publisher says it will continue receiving updates.
