What is QMPlay2?
QMPlay2 plays video and audio in formats supported by FFmpeg, with additional support for Audio CDs, raw files and chiptunes. It suits a mixed media collection and includes a YouTube browser for finding online videos inside the player. OpenGL and Vulkan outputs also offer a spherical view for compatible video.
This entry links to the publisher’s 64-bit Windows installer for version 26.08.02, listed for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11. Separate portable and Qt5 packages are available on the publisher’s release page; they are not the file linked here.
YouTube playback is not self-contained: it requires yt-dlp, an external tool that QMPlay2 downloads automatically. Hardware video decoding is disabled by default and must be enabled in playback settings. The publisher screenshot illustrates the application on Linux rather than documenting its appearance on Windows.
