What is RawTherapee?
RawTherapee develops camera RAW files with a non-destructive, 32-bit floating-point processing engine. It suits photographers who want control over demosaicing, color and detail rather than a simple preset-only workflow. Local adjustments let you refine selected areas of a photo, while crop guides and lens geometry controls help with framing.
Version 5.13 adds refinements to gamut compression, selective editing, denoising and capture sharpening. Its default working profile changes to Rec2020; ProPhoto remains available, but switching profiles can change the behavior of tools such as Exposure and RGB Curves.
The universal Mac download is a ZIP containing a DMG. The publisher requires macOS Tahoe 26.0 or newer on Apple Silicon, or macOS Monterey 12.0 or newer on Intel. Unzip the package, open the DMG and place RawTherapee.app in /Applications. Do not rename or relocate it: the publisher says the app refuses to start elsewhere. The accompanying screenshot is a publisher-provided illustration of the cross-platform editor, not a verified capture of version 5.13 on macOS.
