What is RawTherapee?
RawTherapee develops digital-camera RAW files with control over demosaicing, color and fine detail. Its non-destructive processing engine lets photographers adjust an image without treating the original as the finished output. It also processes JPEG, TIFF and PNG images, making it useful when a photo collection contains more than camera RAW files.
The tools cover color management, selective sharpening and denoising, cropping and lens geometry. This is a photo-development workspace rather than an all-in-one photo library: the project explicitly leaves digital asset management, printing and uploading to other software.
The linked download is the RawTherapee 5.13 Windows x86_64 EXE installer for Intel and AMD 64-bit processors. The publisher provides a separate ARM64 build for ARM-based Windows computers. A minimum Windows version was not established from the cited release page; check the publisher's requirements before choosing it for an older system.
What it offers
- Develop camera RAW files with non-destructive, 32-bit floating-point processing.
- Adjust demosaicing, color and image detail; also process JPEG, TIFF and PNG images.
- Apply selective sharpening and denoising to refine parts of an image.
- Crop images with composition guides and adjust lens geometry.
Good to know
- Not an all-in-one photo manager: digital asset management, printing and uploading require other software.
- The linked x86_64 installer is not the separate Windows ARM64 package.
