What is Sonic Visualiser?

Sonic Visualiser helps you study what is happening inside a music recording. Display its waveform alongside a spectrogram, zoom into a passage, and add annotation layers to mark events, notes or regions. Its pane-and-layer interface keeps different views aligned in time, so you can examine the same section from several perspectives.

The application is aimed at close listening and analysis, including musicological and signal-processing research. Vamp analysis plugins can extract additional information from audio, but no plugins are bundled: install the ones needed for your analysis separately. Sonic Visualiser does not support VST, AudioUnit or LV2 plugins.
