What is Soundplant?
Soundplant turns a Mac keyboard into a soundboard for playing your own audio samples. Drag files onto keys to prepare effects, drum hits, loops or longer background tracks, then trigger them during a performance, recording or presentation. Version 59 supports 88 keyboard keys and MIDI input, with controls for overlapping, restarting, fading and pausing sounds.
Per-key effects and waveform start/end controls let you shape playback without building a full recording project. Background key input can keep cues available while another application is in use, and saved keymaps can move between Mac and Windows.
This download is the publisher's version 59.5.2 DMG, a universal package for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 10.14 or later. The screenshot shows an older Mac interface from Softonic's gallery, not a capture of version 59.5.2.
Soundplant is a standalone sample player, not a synthesizer, plugin, audio editor or sequencer. The unregistered version is free for non-commercial use and includes a 25-launch trial of registered features; commercial use beyond evaluation requires a license.
