What is ThunderSoft Free GIF Maker?
ThunderSoft Free GIF Maker creates animated GIFs from a sequence of JPG, BMP or PNG images. It is aimed at assembling still pictures into an animation rather than converting video. The publisher lists support for images of different sizes, individual frame durations and a configurable replay count. Transparency settings are available for BMP and PNG inputs.
The free edition has an important output limitation: the publisher says a company logo appears on the last frame. Its separate Standard Version is the upgrade offered to avoid that logo. This download is the free-edition ZIP, not the paid edition or its trial.
The publisher lists version 5.7.0 for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista and XP. Softonic still lists 5.6.0; the version here follows the official product page. Architecture and a release date are not specified by that page. The screenshot is publisher-supplied interface artwork, not evidence of a locally installed or tested copy.
What it offers
- Create animated GIFs from JPG, BMP and PNG images.
- Import source images with different dimensions.
- Set the duration of individual animation frames.
- Configure transparency for BMP and PNG images.
- Set the animation replay count.
Good to know
- The free edition adds a company logo to the last frame; the publisher directs users to its separate Standard Version to avoid it.
- The documented input workflow uses still images; video input is not listed for this product.
