What is Tonfotos?
Tonfotos organizes photos and videos stored on your PC, external drives or NAS into a browsable archive. It is aimed at family collections: browse a timeline, find pictures of a person with face recognition, or use location data to explore photos on a map. Albums and favorites group pictures without changing where the files are stored.
The application also finds duplicate images and stores family relationships alongside people's profiles. This makes it useful when a collection needs more context than folders and filenames alone. The publisher provides a Windows x64 EXE installer for Windows 10 and 11.
The free license has no time limit, but limits the number of people in photos and collects anonymous usage statistics. Paid perpetual licenses remove the people limit and allow statistics collection to be disabled. CUDA-based face-recognition acceleration on Windows requires a compatible GPU and a separate runtime plugin; those libraries are not included in the main installer.
