What is Tux Paint?
Tux Paint gives children a drawing canvas with large tool buttons, sound effects and a penguin mascot that offers hints. It is designed for ages 3 to 12 and works for freehand pictures, coloring-book starters and pictures built from stamps, text and shapes. Magic tools add effects such as blur, chalk and rainbow strokes.
Pictures are saved and opened through a thumbnail picturebook rather than filename prompts. Parents and teachers can adjust the available tools and interface options with the separate Tux Paint Config application.
The publisher lists Tux Paint 0.9.35 for OS X Yosemite 10.10 through macOS Tahoe 26, with a universal build for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. This download contains the main application only: the configuration application and optional stamps collection come in separate disk images. The screenshot shows an older Mac interface from the source gallery, not a verified view of version 0.9.35.
What it offers
