What is Wax?
Wax is a video compositing and effects tool for combining layers, adding animated masks and building effects such as particles or 3D text. It can run as a standalone application or as a plug-in for the video editors listed by its publisher. Presets combine plug-ins with saved parameters, so an effect chain can be reused across projects.
The publisher lists AVI, WAV and image inputs, with AVI, MPEG, WAV, Flash and image outputs. Its emphasis is visual compositing: the publisher explicitly describes audio features as limited. The linked package is the Wax 2.0e ZIP from WinTotal, a mirror listed by the publisher; it is not hosted by SoftGalaxy. Current Windows and editor plug-in compatibility have not been verified.
