What is Beyond All Reason?
Beyond All Reason is a real-time strategy game about expanding a base, sustaining production and directing large robot armies. You balance Metal and Energy to build units, scout enemy positions and choose counters for ground, air and naval threats. Terrain matters: mountains can block radar, while hills affect movement and firing positions. Simulated projectiles and deformable terrain make battlefield positioning part of the strategy.
Skirmishes, scenarios, co-op and multiplayer offer different ways to play. The website edition remains free; the team’s June 2026 publishing announcement distinguishes it from a planned paid Steam edition with additional singleplayer content. This download is the Windows launcher package numbered 1.2988.0, not a fixed version of all game content. The launcher retrieves the engine and other dependencies separately.
The project is still in Alpha. Its FAQ allows custom widgets but does not promise full modding and customization support. Treat the evolving free website game separately from the planned Steam campaign and release.
