What is Candy Crisis?
Candy Crisis combines color-matching puzzles with action: touching groups of four candies of the same color disappear. Its twelve stages each have a character and an individual technique, giving the stage game a different focus from open-ended practice. A built-in tutorial introduces the game before you take on an opponent.
For a match with a friend, the two-player mode includes a handicap setting to help balance different skill levels. Solitaire Crisis removes the opponent so you can practice on your own. These are separate reasons to choose the game: stage progression, a head-to-head match or solo practice, rather than just another candy-themed puzzle board.
The linked Windows package is CandyCrisisSetup.exe from the project's version 1.4 release dated December 31, 2015. It is the installer, not the separate source-code ZIP. This is a legacy release: the inspected publisher pages do not establish support for current Windows builds or a processor architecture, and this entry does not claim a Windows 10 or 11 compatibility test.
The publisher describes Candy Crisis as free and open source; its SourceForge project lists GPLv2. The homepage also explains that an old shareware notice does not mean a purchase is required. If that notice appears, the publisher's registration page supplies the free registration details.
