What is Euro Truck Simulator 2?
Euro Truck Simulator 2 combines long-distance cargo deliveries with running a trucking business. Drive European routes, customize your truck and expand your company by buying garages, building a fleet and hiring drivers. It suits players who want freight driving alongside vehicle and business management.
The direct download here is SCS Software’s legacy non-Steam Windows base-game archive, version 1.40.4.8. The publisher offers it as a free trial; it is not a free full-game license or the current Steam release. The legacy full version needs a valid legacy activation key, and the publisher says legacy licenses are no longer sold. A Steam key cannot activate this standalone edition.
For the current edition or the primary Steam demo, use the publisher’s website. Steam handles updates for that edition; the ZIP linked here is intended for legacy installations. Map expansions are separate products, and this entry does not claim current Steam-only features for the older archive.
What it offers
- Transport cargo on European roads and through cities.
- Customize licensed trucks with vehicle configurations, paint and cosmetic options.
- Grow a transport company by buying garages, expanding a fleet and hiring drivers.
Good to know
- The direct ZIP is legacy version 1.40.4.8, not the current Steam edition.
- The trial is not a free full-game license. Full legacy activation requires a valid legacy key; legacy licenses are no longer sold, and Steam keys do not activate the standalone edition.
- Map expansions are separate purchases; the base-game archive does not include every advertised region.
