What is Hedgewars?
Hedgewars is a free, open-source artillery game in which teams of pink hedgehogs take turns attacking each other across cartoon landscapes. Choose weapons and utilities, plan where to move and aim your attacks around the terrain. Local and network multiplayer let you play against other people, while AI opponents, campaigns and practice missions provide single-player options.
Randomly generated maps and preset maps offer different battlefields. You can customize teams and save match settings in schemes rather than use the same setup for every game.
The linked Mac package is version 1.0.0, listed by the publisher for macOS 10.8 and later on 64-bit hardware. The publisher’s source release is newer: 1.0.3 addresses build issues and a crash in 1.0.0, but the Mac binary has not been updated to include those fixes.
