What is LBreakout2?
LBreakout2 is a paddle-and-ball brick-breaking game. Keep the ball in play, clear the bricks and collect falling bonuses while avoiding penalties that can shrink the paddle, darken the playfield or weaken the balls. More than 50 levels combine conventional bricks with growing, explosive and regenerating types. Difficulty settings change paddle size, ball speed and scoring.
The integrated editor lets you create level sets beyond the supplied stages, and custom themes can change the graphics and sounds. An experimental two-player LAN mode is also available. This entry links to the publisher-listed version 2.6.5 Windows 64-bit ZIP, supplied without an installer.
The publisher no longer maintains LBreakout2 and recommends LBreakoutHD instead. Resuming a local game preserves scores and lives but restarts each player’s current level; it does not restore the exact brick layout. If the mouse will not move in Windows windowed mode, the publisher’s FAQ recommends changing rel_motion from 1 to 0 in lgames\lbreakout2.conf inside the game directory.
What it offers
- Play more than 50 brick-breaking levels with adjustable difficulty.
- Collect bonuses such as extra balls, explosive balls and a bonus magnet while avoiding maluses.
- Face special bricks that grow, explode or regenerate.
- Create your own level sets with the integrated editor and customize graphics and sounds with themes.
- Try the experimental two-player LAN mode.
Good to know
- No longer maintained; the publisher recommends LBreakoutHD instead.
- Resuming a local game resets each player’s current level rather than preserving its brick state.
- The two-player LAN mode is described as experimental.
