What is Mari0?
Mari0 combines side-scrolling platforming with linked portals. Place a pair of portals to change how you move through familiar Mario-style levels, rather than relying only on jumps. Stabyourself.net describes the game as a recreation of Super Mario Bros. with puzzle mechanics from Portal. The Windows download linked here is the publisher’s version 1.6 ZIP package.
Up to four players can play co-operatively at the same time, each with a portal gun. A built-in level editor, downloadable map packs and game modifiers provide ways to change the levels and rules. Mari0 is a fan-made crossover, not an official Nintendo or Valve release; its events do not form part of either series’ canon.
