What is Mindustry?
Mindustry combines factory building with tower defense. Conveyor belts move resources through your base, production lines make construction materials and ammunition, and turrets protect the structures that keep those lines running. It suits players who want to design a working supply network as well as defend it against enemy waves.
A map editor lets you create your own layouts, while cross-platform multiplayer supports shared games and large-scale PvP unit battles. Players must use the same game version to connect. Steam adds services such as achievements, Workshop support and seamless Steam multiplayer; those are not included in this standalone download.
The linked file is Anuke’s Mindustry.jar from release 160.7. It is the desktop Java package, not the separate [MacOS]Mindustry.zip advertised on the publisher’s itch.io page. A compatible Java runtime is required; the release source targets Java 17 and its macOS launch configuration uses -XstartOnFirstThread.
