What is Rigs of Rods?
Rigs of Rods is a vehicle-physics sandbox for experimenting with how vehicles move, deform and handle different loads. Drive a truck, tow a trailer, fly an aircraft or pilot a boat in community-created environments. Its soft-body simulation models flexible structures rather than treating every vehicle as a rigid object.
You can explore in single player or join multiplayer servers. Keyboard controls are supported alongside gamepads, steering wheels and pedals, with automatic and manual transmission options for driving. A built-in mod browser provides access to additional vehicles and terrains.
The core game includes only a small selection of content; most additional vehicles and maps are community mods with their own licenses. The publisher's beginner guide also warns that multiplayer can be unstable. This entry links to the Windows 64-bit online EXE installer for version 2026.01, not the portable ZIP or the older content-pack installer. The gallery image shows an older interface, not a verified capture of version 2026.01.
