What is Simutrans?
Simutrans puts you in charge of a transport company connecting towns, attractions and industries. Build routes for passengers, mail and goods using road, rail, water and air transport. Travellers and cargo have specific destinations, so a useful network must connect the places they actually need to reach rather than simply provide vehicles.
Choose a pakset to define the graphics, available objects and economic rules. Maps can be customised, and multiplayer supports competing or collaborating over the internet or a local network. The community also develops additional vehicles, buildings and other objects.
The linked Windows x64 ZIP contains the game engine, not a complete graphics set. Download a compatible pakset from the publisher's paksets page before playing. The interface screenshot below is a publisher-archived view of Simutrans 0.81.35, not a preview of version 125.0; the second image is the publisher's featured gameplay scene. Graphics and available vehicles vary with the chosen pakset.
