What is SuperTuxKart?
SuperTuxKart is a 3D arcade kart racer built around powerups, drifting and varied tracks rather than realistic driving. Race against computer opponents, work through Story Mode challenges to unlock content, or compete across a Grand Prix. Time Trial removes powerups for a more driving-focused race, while Soccer, Egg Hunt and Battle offer different objectives.
The publisher lists 21 official tracks and 18 official karts for version 1.5. Split-screen play and LAN multiplayer let friends compete locally. The linked Mac download is the publisher's full-game ZIP, listed for all architectures.
Online services are currently limited. In its October 24, 2026 notice, the team reports that the addons website and new online account registration are unavailable during a server rewrite. The notice says single-player, split-screen and LAN still work, and previously approved addons can still be installed. Do not choose the game on the assumption that full online account services are available.
The screenshot is a publisher gallery image labelled STK1.3, illustrating the game's kart-and-track presentation rather than a newly captured Mac 1.5 session. SuperTuxKart Evolution is a separate upcoming release; its planned features are not included in this description of 1.5.
