What is Anki?

Anki for Mac organizes flashcards into decks and schedules reviews around how well you recall each answer. It is useful for studying vocabulary, scientific material or other information that benefits from repeated practice. Rate your recall during a review so Anki can schedule the next appearance of the card.

Cards can include audio, images, video and scientific markup. You can customize card layouts and review timing, extend the desktop application with add-ons, and use the free AnkiWeb service to synchronize cards across devices.

The linked download is the Apple Silicon DMG for Anki 26.09.3 and requires macOS 13 or later. Intel Macs have a separate download on the publisher's website. Add-ons may stop working after an upgrade, so check the compatibility of extensions you depend on before changing versions. The screenshot shows an older Mac interface from Softonic's gallery, not the appearance of version 26.09.3.
