What is AppCleaner?
AppCleaner helps remove unwanted applications and the files they leave elsewhere on a Mac. Drop an application onto its window to find related files, then use the delete control to remove them. It suits uninstalling an app when moving the application alone would leave preferences or other associated data behind.
The publisher provides AppCleaner 3.7 for macOS 15 and later. Older systems need a different download from the same publisher page: 3.6.8 covers macOS 10.14 through 15.6, with separate versions for earlier systems. AppCleaner focuses on app removal rather than general system cleaning or optimization. The gallery images show an older interface and are not evidence of version 3.7's current appearance.
What it offers
- Drop an application onto the window to search for related files.
- Remove an unwanted application together with associated files.
- Inspect file names and locations in the removal list before deleting.
Good to know
- The linked version 3.7 requires macOS 15 or later; older Macs need the appropriate legacy download.
- Focused on application removal, not a full system-cleaning or optimization suite.
