What is AssetRipper?

AssetRipper helps developers inspect Unity game files, find unwanted dependency assets and identify broken asset references. It can convert assets into Unity-native formats. Unity Project export produces a project for Unity Editor, while Primary Content export turns meshes, scenes and prefabs into GLB models for viewing outside Unity.

The linked Windows x64 ZIP is the free, open-source release, not the separate paid Premium edition. Support varies between Unity versions, and importing an asset bundle alone will not usually recover its Mono scripts: the relevant C# assemblies must also be supplied.

The screenshot shows an audio-asset preview published in the project’s issue tracker in August 2025. It illustrates the application interface, not a test of version 2.0.0 or a promise of audio seeking support.

What it offers

  • Analyze Unity game files to inspect dependency assets and broken references.
  • Export a Unity project that can be opened in Unity Editor.
  • Export meshes, scenes and prefabs as GLB models through Primary Content mode.

Good to know

  • Support quality varies between Unity versions; not every game or asset is guaranteed to export correctly.
  • Asset bundles generally do not contain Mono scripts. Include the relevant C# assemblies when importing assets that need script export.
  • Premium provides additional export features and improvements; these are separate from the free release linked here.
