What is AxCrypt?
AxCrypt protects individual files with AES-256 encryption and lets you share access through key sharing. It suits protecting documents before storing or sending them, with a limited free plan and paid Premium and Business subscriptions. Encrypted files use the .axx extension.
Setup requires an AxCrypt account, email verification and a password. The free plan is limited to encrypting two files per month and sharing with one recipient. Premium adds unlimited file encryption for private use, secured folders and cloud security; Business adds team administration and access controls. Choose the plan for your workload rather than assuming the free download includes every feature.
This entry links to the publisher's Windows x64 MSIX package. The publisher lists version 3.1.31.0 and requires Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11. The screenshot is a historical AxCrypt 2.1.1444.0 Windows interface from Softonic's gallery, not a preview of the linked 3.1 release. Keep backups and retain your encryption password: the publisher warns that losing the password can leave files inaccessible.
