What is Bambu Studio?
Bambu Studio turns 3D models into print-ready slices and keeps related work together in 3MF projects. Its multi-plate layout, project resources and assembly view suit models that need several parts or several build plates. Use object arrangement, orientation and support tools to prepare a model, then inspect the sliced result in the G-code viewer.
Color painting and multi-material controls let you assign filaments within a project. The publisher also documents STEP import, 3D text and printer control over LAN or WAN. Those features are distinct from the basic offline slicing workflow: the optional networking plugin uses non-free libraries, while the official README describes SD-card printing after slicing without that plugin.
This entry links to the publisher-listed non-beta Mac DMG for version 2.8.2.61. The publisher specifies macOS 10.15 or later. The application and installer have not been run for this entry; the download check verifies HTTP headers only.
What it offers
- Keep multiple build plates, project resources and assembly views in a 3MF project.
- Arrange and orient objects, generate supports and adjust global, object or part slicing parameters.
- Inspect sliced toolpaths in the G-code viewer.
- Paint models and manage multiple filaments for multi-material printing.
- Import STEP models and add 3D text to a project.
Good to know
- The publisher lists macOS 10.15 as the minimum; older macOS versions are outside the stated requirements.
- Extended networking uses an optional plugin based on non-free libraries; the open-source license does not describe every networking component.
