What is Barrier?
Barrier lets a Windows computer share a keyboard and mouse with other computers over a network. Move the pointer to a screen edge or use a keypress to switch control between machines; clipboard sharing is also supported. It suits a desk with multiple computers where each machine keeps its own display.
Install Barrier on every participating computer. Set the machine with the keyboard and mouse as the server, arrange client screens in its configuration grid, and enter the server IP address on each client. Screen names must match exactly, including letter case.
This entry links to the publisher’s Windows installer for version 2.4.0, released on November 1, 2021. The release page now warns that Barrier is no longer maintained and receives no improvements or security fixes; the primary developers moved to InputLeap. Client identity verification in 2.4.0 is disabled by default for compatibility with older clients. Do not interpret an available download or a newer catalog update date as evidence of ongoing maintenance.
