What is BIMvision?
BIMvision opens building models exported to IFC so project participants can review them without a license for the CAD application that created them. It supports IFC formats from 2x3 to 4.4. Navigate the 3D model, examine its IFC structure, separate storeys for inspection or use sections and transparency to see how elements fit together. Measurement tools cover lengths, areas, volumes and weight, while the Change option helps identify differences between model revisions.
The base viewer is free for private and commercial use, but some workflows need separate plugins. Geometric clash detection, editing IFC property information and viewing multiple IFC files together are listed as extensions rather than core viewer functions. Check the required plugin before choosing BIMvision for those tasks. The linked EXE is the publisher-listed 3.2.1 installer; the screenshot is an older publisher illustration of the Storey Slide interface, not a capture of this release.
