What is BowPad?
BowPad is a text editor for working with source code, configuration files and ordinary text on Windows. Its ribbon groups editing controls above tabbed documents, while syntax highlighting covers more than 100 file types and languages. It supports UTF-8, UTF-16 and UTF-32, with auto-completion and code snippets for repeated editing tasks.
Navigation hints in the vertical scrollbar and path-based tab colors help distinguish open files. A dark theme, custom language coloring and plugins written in JScript or VBScript provide further ways to adapt the editor.
The publisher requires Windows 10 22H2 or later, so this is not a choice for older Windows installations. The linked download is the BowPad64 2.9.6 MSI installer; portable and ARM64 packages are separate release assets.
