What is Camunda Modeler?
Camunda Modeler, also called Desktop Modeler, is a local editor for BPMN process diagrams, DMN decisions and forms. It works alongside an IDE and stores your modeling files on the local file system. Use it to prepare executable diagrams for Camunda 7 or Camunda 8 rather than treating a process drawing as a complete running automation.
The application offers a diagram editor, configurable lint rules and extension options. Deployment and execution are available from the editor, but deploying diagrams, starting process instances or testing tasks requires a connection to Camunda. Installing the modeler alone does not provide that runtime connection.
The selected 5.52.0 download is the macOS Apple Silicon (ARM64) disk image. Camunda also provides an Intel DMG on its downloads page. The documented Mac installation is to open the DMG, move Camunda Modeler to Applications and start the app. A minimum macOS version for this specific release was not established from the publisher pages inspected.
