What is CreateInstall Free?
CreateInstall Free builds installation packages for Windows applications. Arrange the setup process as a sequence of commands: include application files, present a license agreement, create shortcuts and configure an uninstaller. The bundled CreateInstall Assistant provides a simpler route for projects that do not need complex installation logic.
The Free edition is freeware rather than a time-limited trial. It supports making setups for any number of products, but it does not include every command available in the paid editions. For example, the publisher comparison reserves Run MSI file for Light and Full, and Download Files and Create service for Full. Generated setup dialogs also retain CreateInstall branding in the lower-left corner; Free cannot replace that area with your own text or link.
The linked cif-setup.exe is the publisher's Freeware package, separate from the Full and Light trial downloads. The publisher lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 as supported systems. The screenshot illustrates the shared CreateInstall interface from the publisher gallery, not a verified view of the current freeware release.
