What is DevUtils?
DevUtils brings everyday data utilities into one native Mac application. Format and validate JSON, convert between JSON, YAML and CSV, encode or decode Base64 strings, compare text and inspect JWTs without switching between separate websites. Clipboard-based tool detection helps select a utility for the text you are working with.
The publisher says data processing stays on your Mac, but this is not a claim that the application never connects to the internet: license verification and automatic updates can use a connection. DevUtils is paid software. Its direct-purchase perpetual license includes one year of updates; without renewal you can continue using the last version covered by your license. The linked DMG is the publisher’s macOS 1.17.0 download for Intel and Apple Silicon. The publisher screenshot illustrates an older 1.14.0 interface, not a verified capture of 1.17.0.
What it offers
- Format and validate JSON, with syntax-highlighted output.
- Convert JSON, YAML and CSV data; encode and decode Base64 or URL strings.
- Inspect JWTs, test regular expressions, compare text and generate hashes.
- Select tools using clipboard detection and organize them in a native macOS interface with light and dark themes.
Good to know
- Paid perpetual licensing includes one year of updates; later updates require renewal, although the last covered version remains usable.
- Working data is processed offline according to the publisher, but license verification and automatic updates can use the internet.
