What is Earth3D?
Earth3D displays Earth in an interactive 3D view, from a whole-planet perspective to closer views of selected regions. The publisher describes imagery from NASA, USGS and other sources, with support for external data such as cloud layers and earthquake positions. A source list beside the globe lets you choose imagery and geographic content.
This is a legacy virtual-globe application, not a promise of current street-level mapping. The publisher says house-level detail is limited to its Osnabrück imagery. Availability of the old imagery servers and compatibility with current Windows releases have not been verified.
The linked Windows package is earth3d-1_0_4.zip, the archive identified on the publisher's download page. Softonic separately labels its listing 1.0.5; that label is not applied to this 1.0.4 download. The accompanying historical gallery screenshot shows the older Earth Browser v. 1.0.1 interface and illustrates the application's layout, not the exact package contents.
